Exercise Classes at Tenterden

Active Lifestyle
Lower intensity class designed for those over 50. Aimed to increase cardiovascular fitness and tone.

Box Fit
This class packs a punch with lots of high energy boxing combos using gloves and punch bags. Choreographed to music to build stamina and burn lots of calories. Box-fit will help you de-stress and balance out. This is an aerobic workout to music using boxing basics and punching combos to whip you into shape.

Aqua Fit
Improve stamina, strength and suppleness as well as increas  cardiovascular fitness. Unlike aerobics on land, Aquafit is low impact. Also known as Aqua Aerobics, Aquafit is an aerobics  ession in the pool. The cushioning effect of the water protects j ints in the spine, ankle, hip and knees. It is suitable for people of all ages and abilities as participants can work at a variety of levels by increasing effort and using resistance equipment.

Legs, Bums and Tums
An old favourite brought right up to date! It’s not as hard as you may think to get off the sofa and start working those areas you think you’ve neglected: legs, bums and tums. This exercise class offers a low impact workout concentrating on the mid to lower body muscles to tone and tighten those all important areas.

Body Balance
You’ll be floating on air after this class! A dynamic, fitness to m sic programme that leaves you feeling relaxed and renewed,  ody Balance combines the best of Eastern disciplines, like Yo a and Tai-Chi, with popular new methods such as Pilates. Co trolled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured serie  of stretches, moves and poses, create a holistic workout that  rings the body into a state of harmony and balance.

Body Combat
Get fighting fit in record time with this pre-choreographed class, combining Karate, Kickboxing and Tai Chi into a unique self defence style workout.

Body Pump
Shape that body! Body Pump is a class using barbells and hand weights to tone and condition muscles while raising metabolic rate for rapid fat burning.

High Intensity workout for 30 minutes based on interval training. Designed to take your fitness to the next level and help you smash your goals faster. Improve your cardio fitness, build overall stamina and burn serious amounts of calories in the process. Put in the work and you will see the results

Hatha Yoga
Designed to help promote strength and flexibility using a sequence of balance, stretch and yoga poses bringing a feeling of harmony and well being. Postures can be made gentler or stronger depending on experience.

Outdoor Bootcamp
Challenge yourself with this action-packed workout, designed to improve your stamina, speed, agility & strength, in a fun way! You’ll be put through an effective workout with team games, paired exercises, circuits, strength work and running. The combination of the team and the Instructor’s positive motivational style will help you achieve things you may not believe you were capable of!

*This class will take place on the recreation ground and will be moved to the main hall during bad weather.

RPM is our indoor cycling class, set to the rhythm of motivating music. Burn up to 620 calories* a workout and get fit fast!

You control your own resistance levels and sprint speed so you can build up your training level over time. A great cardiovascular workout.

A full body aerobic workout incorporating styles such as jazz and hip hop divided into different tracks that provide peaks and troughs of intensity. Routines are choreographed to a variety of music to ensure there is something for everyone. This class is fitness at its most fun!

Smartstart LBT
A 30 minute introduction to legs, bums and tums

Forget the workout join the party! Zumba is an aerobic exercise inspired by Latin Dance. Fusing hypnotic rhythms and easy-to-follow moves, the routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance are combined to tone and sculpt  our body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and zest into the mix and you've got a Zumba class!



Information for Gym & Classes

Gym Etiquette
  • All users are required to complete an induction and a PAR-Q medical questionnaire (for 12-15 year olds an over 18 year old must be present).
  • Please consult a doctor if you feel you need assistance before using the gym or if pregnant. Please bring proof into the instructor so they can assess if you are fit enough to participate in the gym.
  • All personal belongings are to be stored in the lockers provided.
  • Appropriate clothing and footwear for the activity must be worn – no muddy outdoor shoes please.
  • Before commencing your workout please remember to pay or swipe at reception
  • If you are unsure of how to use a piece of equipment ask an instructor for help.
  • Bring a towel with you and wipe down equipment after use.
  • At peak times users may be limited to 15 minutes per piece of equipment. This is at the discretion of an instructor but please be considerate to other users.
  • Remember to bring water with you and drink regularly before, during and after your workout to avoid dehydration. Please ensure you have eaten enough for your workout before hand too.
  • Junior gym members must stick to the allowed times for their memberships.
Class Etiquette
  • There must be a minimum of 3 people for a class to take place.
  • Please arrive for your class in plenty of time in order to check in at reception and start class. Once the warm up has commenced late arrivals will not be permitted. For RPM classes you must arrive 10 minutes before, make yourself know to the instructor and ask if you need help in setting up.
  • Please do not enter a studio until the class is set up.
  • All mobile phones must be switched off or on silent.
  • Please use the dry changing area and lockers provided for all personal belongings.
  • Over 16 years old can participate in the classes – under 16 year olds cannot.
  • Please consult a doctor before participating in any activity. If you are pregnant or have any medical conditions you must make your instructor aware of this.
  • Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration and have eaten enough for your class. Bring a water bottle or purchase one from reception.
  • Please bring your own towel.
  • All paid bookings should be paid for at the time of booking.
  • Classes / activities may be cancelled before 09:00 on the day of the class / activity otherwise the price of the booking will be charged even if you are a member. If a class / activity is timetabled before 09:00 it must be cancelled the day before.
  • All customers failing to cancel a booking within the defined period, or failing to attend or check in at reception before the class / activity booked, will be charged the full fee for the class / activity.
  • Customers with payments outstanding will not be permitted to book / attend a pre-booked class / activity until the outstanding payment has been cleared. This can take a minimum of 24 hours.
  • Pay as you go customers (booking members) cancelling in line with the cancellation policy will receive a credit which can be redeemed against future bookings.
  • Cancellations can be made by phone, in person or online by logging into your account.
