Exercise Classes at Tenterden

Active for Life 50+
Lower intensity class designed for those over 50. Aimed to increase cardiovascular fitness and tone.

Ab Attack
A hard core 45minute class focussing on the core muscles for great posture and tone. Define and strengthen your abs using a variety of exercises and equipment.

Aqua Fit
Improve stamina, strength and suppleness as well as increas  cardiovascular fitness. Unlike aerobics on land, Aquafit is low impact. Also known as Aqua Aerobics, Aquafit is an aerobics  ession in the pool. The cushioning effect of the water protects j ints in the spine, ankle, hip and knees. It is suitable for people of all ages and abilities as participants can work at a variety of levels by increasing effort and using resistance equipment.

Bums, Legs and Tums
An old favourite brought right up to date! It’s not as hard as you may think to get off the sofa and start working those areas you think you’ve neglected: legs, bums and tums. This exercise class offers a low impact workout concentrating on the mid to lower body muscles to tone and tighten those all important areas.

Body Balance
You’ll be floating on air after this class! A dynamic, fitness to m sic programme that leaves you feeling relaxed and renewed,  ody Balance combines the best of Eastern disciplines, like Yo a and Tai-Chi, with popular new methods such as Pilates. Co trolled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured serie  of stretches, moves and poses, create a holistic workout that  rings the body into a state of harmony and balance.

Body Combat
Get fighting fit in record time with this pre-choreographed class, combining Karate, Kickboxing and Tai Chi into a unique self defence style workout.

Body Pump
Shape that body! Body Pump is a class using barbells and hand weights to tone and condition muscles while raising metabolic rate for rapid fat burning.

Fitball / Tone
Full body Fitball workout incorporating stretching and toning exercises for a low impact yet effective class. Designed to help strengthen all areas as well as improve balance, flexibility and movement.

Hatha Yoga
Designed to help promote strength and flexibility using a sequence of balance, stretch and yoga poses bringing a feeling of harmony and well being. Postures can be made gentler or stronger depending on experience.

Power in the Park
Challenge yourself with this action-packed workout, designed to improve your stamina, speed, agility & strength, in a fun way! You’ll be put through an effective workout with team games, paired exercises, circuits, strength work and running. The combination of the team and the Instructor’s positive motivational style will help you achieve things you may not believe you were capable of!

*This class will take place on the recreation ground and will be moved to the main hall during bad weather.

RPM is our indoor cycling class, set to the rhythm of motivating music. Burn up to 620 calories* a workout and get fit fast!

If choreographed moves are your thing, this is for you! When you do a step class you are primarily exercising heart and lungs for improved cardiovascular fitness. You’ll also be giving your lower body muscles a good workout: strengthening and toning your bottom, thigh and abdominal muscles.This variable intensity workout with upbeat music is bound to get your mambos, stomps and turns off to perfection.

Vinyasa/Ashtanga Flow Yoga
Drawing on the classical influences of Ashtanga Yoga, the dynamic flow of Vinyasa is a challenging discipline that will work the body, mind and soul.

Working on a deeply physical and psychological level to reinforce balance, alignment and posture, increase strength and endurance and focus inwardly to reset the mind and body. Taught with the benefits of a Pilates teaching background, teaching focuses on correct body alignment to improve range of movement in the joints as well as strength and flexibility.

Classes are challenging, but can be adapted to suit all levels.

Forget the workout join the party! Zumba is an aerobic exercise inspired by Latin Dance. Fusing hypnotic rhythms and easy-to-follow moves, the routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance are combined to tone and sculpt  our body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and zest into the mix and you've got a Zumba class!
