Flume Works

Please be aware that the flume at Tenterden Leisure Centre will be closed until the end of May due to essential structural repairs taking place.

In addition to this, the swimming pool at Tenterden Leisure Centre will be closed from Monday 1st re-opening on Saturday 6th June 2015. As a result, all pool activity including swimming lessons, school activities and social swimming are cancelled during this period.

The repairs to our flume are essential and it would not be safe for any members of the staff or public to use this area whilst the work is being carried out.

To ensure the closure is as minimal as possible, and in the best interests of our customers, we are completing the remainder and final stages of repairing the roof and flume out of opening hours.

We also plan to enhance some of the other features during this period to ensure that all features are operational following the re-opening on Saturday 6th June 2015.

All other areas of the Leisure Centre remain in full operation, although there will be an alternative entrance and exit to the gym throughout this period.

We thank-you in advance for your understanding in this matter and apologise for any inconvenience caused. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

As a result, we have pulled together some frequently asked questions which we hope will be of use.

Q: Why is the flume/pool being closed?

A:Due to essential structural repairs to the flume the pool is being closed to enable the safe repair of the feature.  Due to the complexities involved with these works, it would not be safe to keep the pool open during this period.  Please be assured that we have aimed to keep the closure as minimal as possible.

Q: Will I get a refund for my swimming membership?

A:As stated in the terms and conditions of memberships for and including swimming “On occasions when necessary maintenance is required or special events are being held, the Facilities or part thereof may be closed or unavailable. Members will, where possible, be given fourteen days prior notice of any such closure or unavailability.” Therefore, under these conditions, no refund can be given. These repairs are imperative for every customer’s use of pool and we apologise for the inconvenience it may cause.

Q: Will I get a refund for my swimming lessons?

A:For Direct Debit members, the membership includes, but is not limited to lessons. As this membership includes unlimited free swimming there would be no refund due on this. For Course members the lessons will not be included in the block for payment so will not be charged.

Q: Where will the entrance to the gym be?

A:The entrance to the gym will be through the squash court and will be signposted accordingly.

Q: Are there likely to be delays?

A: We are not intending there to be any delays and endeavour to complete all work in this time period. We have been assured by the contractors that the deadline will be maintained, however, as with any maintenance work, unforeseen circumstances can arise.

Q: Will the Wave Rave be on?

A: Due to the area of repair the Wave Rave will be cancelled on Friday 5th June.

Q: Is the rest of the centre operational?

A: Yes, the rest of the centre is operational and, where necessary, entrances and exits will be signposted if diverted
